PRIVATE INSTRUCTION
Private yoga sessions can be of value in a number of ways:
♥ BEGINNERS. Many people who are new to yoga are intimidated at the thought of entering a class where they have to start from square one. Even just one private session can help beginners feel more comfortable entering a class with other people. Sessions can focus on basic postures and alignment to prevent injury and gain flexibility. Even gaining familiarity with the names of the poses can help.
♥ DEEPENING YOUR HOME PRACTICE. A home based practice is infinitely valuable. Our home practice can take us places that we may not be able to go in a studio. It can help us deepen our connection with our bodies and lead us into a regular meditation practice. Also, many people can not attend yoga classes as often as they would like. Yoga is a practice easily done at home. Some private instruction can help us develop that home practice and come up with a plan of action.
♥ ADJUSTING YOUR PRACTICE TO YOUR PHYSICAL NEEDS. Group classes can be busy. Maybe you feel like you need a little extra attention to help take your practice to the next level or maybe there is a pose or two that just don't feel right. All bodies are different. Maybe your hips aren't very flexible and you feel uncomfortable asking for modifications in class or maybe you have a condition or injury that you would like to give special attention to.
♥ FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE IN YOUR OWN SPACE. Some people would just rather practice in their homes. It may fit into their schedules better and there is always the added benefit of the one-on-one attention. Your practice may progress faster and you may find it easier to commit to the practice with a standing yoga day and time.
♥ FAMILY SESSIONS. This goes hand in hand with feeling comfortable in your own space. Family yoga sessions are a good way to spend quality family time together in your own space. Grow in your practice, help your children develop their own practice, and have fun doing it!
